Visual Arts Teacher
About Me
I have been professionally active as a visual artist, art teacher, and designer since 1991 until now. My curiosity to explore new platforms and skills shifted me in different directions in the field of art and design, which helped me improve my creative abilities and skills, and allowed me to work on various projects and industries while earning a competitive salary.
Throughout my 30+ years of learning and experience in the field of art and design, my primary focus has been on developing methods for delivering creative art content to individuals of varying age groups. I have worked with people of all ages, ranging from preschoolers to university-level students, and I am well-acquainted with their unique needs and challenges when it comes to working with visual language.
What I discovered goes beyond mere technical art practices that people commonly associate with. I firmly believe that there is an artist within each of us, perpetually seeking opportunities to express its full potential. An art teacher's role, in my view, is to facilitate students in articulating these profound thoughts and deepening their connection to the elements that surround them. Being an art teacher is a profoundly gratifying experience, involving the sharing of knowledge, experimentation, and forging a profound connection with the innermost layers of the mind and the senses.
This approach has significantly improved my teaching by enabling me to understand the genuine emotions and thoughts of others. This, in turn, greatly influences my ability to seek creative solutions to life's challenges. I wholeheartedly embrace Picasso's belief that we all deserve to savor the magnificence of art: “Every child is an artist. The challenge is to remain an artist as we grow up.
Education
2007-2009
Master of Fine Art & Print Media
Universiti Teknologi MARA (UITM)
Malaysia 2007-2009
Attaining my Master of Fine Art and Print Media in Malaysia from 2007 to 2009 was a pivotal juncture in my academic and personal evolution. Relocating to Malaysia amplified the depth of my art and design journey. Here, I honed my visual art skills and ventured into professional research within the art and design domain.
Amidst Malaysia’s rich tapestry of cultures, I embraced a new language, a second canvas upon which to express myself. These years cultivated my skills as an art researcher, equipping me with the tools to excel in this academic discipline. I evolved into not just a professional artist but also an esteemed academic expert within the realm of visual art. This transformative period laid the foundation for a career as an academic professional in the field of art and design.
The title of my master’s research was “Iranian Traditional Motif: Boteh/Paisley”. In this research, I studied the special and important motif of Iran (Boteh/Paisley). There are a lot of different motifs in Iranian culture; the designs are inspired by the shapes of cypress trees which represent the youth, endurance, and immortality and are highly appreciated by all cultures in that region. These motifs are used in different kinds of crafts in Iran. The research findings showed that Boteh/Paisley has great potential in the creative world of art and design and needs to be reconsidered by visual artists and designers.
